How to send multiple pictures in an email on an iPhone 3.0
Launch the Photo application on your iPhone 3.0 and select the photo album that contains the photos you want to email. Once the photo album has been loaded you will see an icon in the lower left hand corner as pictured below.
Click the icon in the lower left hand corner and you will be able to select or checkmark the photos that you want to email or copy.
Once you have selected the photos you want to email you can hit the Share button and then click Email (as long as you have only selected less than 5 photos, will explain).
Now if you select more than 5 photos you will notice the Share button will be grayed out but don’t worry, you can still click Copy and then paste the photos into your email application. Another weird quark about the Share button is that it will only send the photos at 800 x 600 but if you use the copy and paste method your photos will appear in the full 2048 x 1536 resolution.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I was sending pictures one by one until I found your write-up and this saves a ton of time!

Thanks for this. I figured out that it was probably sending the hi resolution files when I tried emailing myself 5 pictures and it timed out on the Iphone. then i tried the share option and voila, it went in seconds but the resolution was quite smaller when received. this is fine since I use them for work anyway. Thanks!

There is an app called Mail Photo 2 Group. It can mail multiple photos to groups, edit photos name and size.
