2. Select “Account Settings” from the drop down menu.

3. Click the “Mobile” Tab.

4.  In the top right corner of the gray box click “Go to Facebook Mobile”

5.   Click on the picture above ”Upload via Email”  a screen should pop up with an email address. (It ends with “@m.facebook.com”)

6. You can either have the link sent to your phone or type it in manually.

7. Save the email address to your phone.

League of Legends

League of Legends

LoL

I started playing League of Legends (also known as LoL) in November with some buddies of mine and I now have over 500 games played. If you are familiar with DotA, which I was not, then you know the basic concepts of the game as it was created by same same people.

League of Legends is a player vs player that has a 5v5 or 3v3 map. At the beginning of each game you chose a champion that you want to play and then choose some items to start with. You then lane against your enemies trying to kill creeps (computer played trolls) to gain experience and gold while trying to stay alive from the onslaught of your enemies. Once you have gained enough exp you can then start trying to kill your enemy and setting up ganks with your team partners. It is best to play with people you know and set up a ventrilo or teamspeak server to chat on. League of Legends is completely free to play but you can opt to buy skins that just look cool but do not give you an advantage.

If you want to join click the link and play a couple practice games https://signup.leagueoflegends.com?ref=4b4f2cf7d0b64. If you decide you like it then add Krashr as a friend and we can play together sometime.

Greetings,

Your friend krashr is inviting you to play League of Legends with them.

The creators of DotA Allstars bring you League of Legends, a fast-paced competitive online game that will test both your skill and mind. You will become a powerful summoner and call forth brave Champions – growing their power and abilities through battles across a unique and visually stylized world.

Avant Window Navigator

April 8th, 2010 by tgmaniac

Ubuntu theme

We had a commenter Ernie M on the Cool Ubuntu Theme post that wanted to know “How do you get the “Apple” bar at the bottom of the screen? Could you please post how to?” I promised Ernie that one of our next posts would be about the “Apple” bar so I am now making good on that promise.

The apple bar that Ernie is refering to is called Avant Window Navigator or AWN for short and it can be found at https://launchpad.net/awn. It is available for some linux PCs but not for windows. The installation instructions can be found here but if you are running Ubuntu then it should be as easy as running the command “sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator”

Apple iPhone OS 4.0

April 7th, 2010 by tgmaniac

krashrApple is going to announce the details of the iPhone 4.0 OS tomorrow April 8th. This has been a long awaited and needed OS upgrade as 3.0 was announce in March of 2009. The iPhone 3.0 upgrade brought us copy, paste and search so 4.0 should be looking to expand on those abilities. I am also looking forward to seeing if they drop any hints on the new iPhone hardware that is expected to come out this summer.

Krashr’s iPhone 4.0 wishlist

Multitasking
It would be great to be able to run multiple applications even though we know it will eat the battery life much faster.

Voice Commands
Dialing, opening application or searching mail using your voice would be a nice add on.

Flash
Would be awesome but doubtful. This becomes less of a want once Netflix releases their app for the iPhone and networks make episodes viewable on the iPhone.

Tethering
Better yet FREE tethering but that is on AT&T.

Free Command & Conquer download

February 15th, 2010 by tgmaniac

Command & Conquer is giving away the 3 previous games in their series in preparation for the new version “Tiberian Twighlight”.
You can download the games from this website http://www.commandandconquer.com/classic.

Ahh, C&C: Red Alert brings back memories of playing games over dial-up with my cousins back in the day. I might even have the Red Alert music CD still lying around somewhere.

Cloud AntiVirus

Panda Cloud Antivirus

Panda Cloud Antivirus

There is a new concept in the AntiVirus field and it involves using servers accessed through the internet to do the heavy lifting instead of sucking resources from your desktop. Panda Security offers the first free cloud antivirus, spyware, adware, and rootkit detection. What this means is that Panda will handle all the updates and newest antivirus definitions on the server side and they give you a light weight application to scan local drives and run on access scanning. Never having to run updates and a client that doesn’t slow down a computer is always a plus but a downside is if you lose connection to the internet for whatever reason then you lose antivirus.

Effect Radio

October 26th, 2009 by tgmaniac

Effect RadioEffect Radio is an online Christian Alternative radio station that plays music from bands such as Hawk Nelson, Skillet, Flyleaf, Relient K, Red, and The Almost. I have been looking for a good online station that plays mainly Alternative Christian music and I found that Effect Radio has a good mix of bands and has pretty good sound quality. If you are looking for some good music to listen to online check it out at http://effectradio.com.

Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration on Windows Server 2008

October 26th, 2009 by tgmaniac

Disabling IE ESC in 2008 is different from the uninstall windows component we were used to in 2003.
Click on Start, Administrative Tools, Server Manager. Near the bottom of the right hand side of the Server Manager screen you should see the Configure IE ESC. Click on the Configure IE ESC link and you will be able to turn off IE ESC for administrators and/or users.
